It was a little over a year ago when I first started to articulate an idea that's been swirling around my head for a number of years.
As the idea was taking shape I started mentioning it to some close friends. Looking for permission to begin. But permission from whom? In the end I realized that I had all the permissions in the world except my own. I am eternally grateful to the friends that pointed this crucial fact out to me.
Once I got out of my own way a liberating clarity and energy took over.
As I am launching this site, and the project itself in earnest I would like to thank Rick Valicenti, Harvey Pranian, Lisa Degliantoni, Terry Maday and my soulmate and wife Rita Pyrillis for their open ears and minds, time and encouragement.
And of course a huge thanks to all the artists that have been opening their studios to me and my camera as well as everyone who sat for their portrait at the Evanston Made group show opening at the Evanston Art Center.
Without any of you this project would not be possible.
I am grateful to be part of this community.
