What brought you to Evanston?
I came here to live near the lake and raise my daughters.
Describe your art, in a hundred words or less.
I utilize my skill set as a dressmaker and designer to address other spaces that the body occupies, connecting the flow of raw material in my studio to a larger material stream and thought process. I like building coherent relationships from disparate parts.
What is your medium?
I work in many mediums, primarily thread, needles and pins, leather, cloth, paper, pencil, and some paint.
What are you currently working on?
I just completed a 3-part wall installation in my studio.
Name one piece of art, by any artist, that blew your mind or otherwise inspired you.
Helen Marten's installation at the 2015 Venice Biennale.
It makes life worth living.
